Loads of photos, gang. (Well, there will be - seems to be a problem with posting them right now...)
We had a full-on gorgeous day for the Bermuda National Trust walk at St. George's, it was quite well attended and hopefully as a fundraiser did well. There were kids, grandmas, tourists and a large core of those of us of middle years and fully ready to do our part.
The walk started in the old town, near the UNESCO World Heritage Center. We were gathered in an open area cum parking lot until the Town Crier released us at 2pm sharp, having given us a welcome and benediction with bagpipe. The route took us thru the heart of the old town, up the hill to the Unfinished Church (one of those spasms of monument-building done in by finances and sweeping ill health), on up to Ft. Albert, thru the St. George's golf course - and what views those golfers have! - then along the railway trail for a time.
I didn't stick it for the whole 7 miles, but turned back at about 5 to be sure of catching a bus back to my part of the country. All in all, I've crisped up a little (despite sunscreen) and will likely sleep well tonight.
So - enjoy more corners of Bermuda!
