A busy week here. At work I had 4 cases on agendas and got review letters out for another 6. Went with the agent out to Tucker's Town to visit the building where solar hot water panels are proposed to heat the water for showers and pool at the golf clubhouse - will post a photo of the view across the - driving range? I'm so not golf-y - to the waterfront.
Looks like Coral Beach/Four Corners is about to heat up again, and another national interest project is due to land anytime. Caseload is up to near 40 now, and while a few are simple and straight forward, most of a lot of history and issues, and so take longer. Can't say I'd be thrilled with a steady diet of simple stuff, but at least you can get them off your desk and on to the permitting stage!
Finished up the bluebird house - sort of a naif approach, stylistically, which suits my present abilities. The 50 birdhouses are due in to BSOA by the end of the month, they will be displayed for two weeks then auctioned off in mid May. That should be a fun show, and I may come to the auction to see what the prices are like - heck, birdhouses may become my Bermuda decorating 'theme'. A picture or two is attached.
Did my April 'shops' at Gibbons, a local department store. I hadn't worked out prior to this that the main store has several 'boutique'-y shops scattered nearby. This month I had two departments to visit and evaluate, doing phone, merchandising and sales associate 'shops' for a subset of the main store and one of the off-shoots. Fun, in its way.
The Agricultural Show is one of the big events for the weekend. Very much like the State Fair, very popular generally but particularly with kids. It started Thursday and runs thru tomorrow evening. I may join a friend from work there, with a girlfriend of hers, but I did want to hear an acquaintance sing - Michelle will be there with her friend around 9-ish, Joy will sing around 4, and I don't think I could stay all day if I had to. Masterworks is on the same grounds, and a show opened today that I want to go see, so that will be part of the day. The Ag Expo is on the grounds of the Botanical Gardens, which prepared some new gardens for the show. Also, Kaleidoscope, with its Elliot Gallery, is open, and I want to visit them, see this show by Christopher Marsden.
I'm supposed to connect with a fellow selling his pastel sets - he has started traveling more and finds watercolors much easier to take along, so is shifting out much of his other gear. Someone else is first in line for them, but the fellow acknowledges he has a lot of them and the sheer quantity may be daunting for anyone - he is willing to sort of share them out if need be. That works much better for me - I've never worked with pastels and hardly need the two picnic baskets full that he has, just to putter about with.
If the weather is good, there will be pictures to post tomorrow!
Hey - let me know of questions you might have!
Hugs!
Sunday a juried membership show opens at Dockyard's Bermuda Art Centre, and I'll enjoy that.
